The surrounding area offers great snow - it is at the centre of the European Sports-Region, with sure skiing for all levels of skiers. The Region Ski pass also covers Schuttdorf, Thummersback and Karprun where you can ski 12 months of the year. The extensive cross country trails in the valleys around Zell are endless. If you are not taking part in skiing, a walk across the frozen lake is a wonderful experience.
The Maiskogel is an excellent ski area with an interesting number of red runs leading through the forest to Kaprun village, while the Kitzsteinhorn at 10,000 feet, guarantees snow throughout the year and provides skiers with a good selection of varied runs. Resort Activities
Why not take a day trip to Kitzbuhel, only 50 minutes by train (services runs every hour) and experience the world famous and daring Hahnenkamm Downhill Ski run. Apress Ski - After dark, Zell am See offers a wide variety of bars and night clubs for all tastes, from the lively and appropriately named Crazy Daisy (Irish Daisy) to the more serene atmosphere of the cafes overlooking the lake and dancing at the Evergreen. The lively disco is the Diele Bar situated in the centre of town. For the more mature, music at the Viva, which is busier late at night and at the week-ends. Because of our elevated position with the best panoramic views of Zell am See and our location beside the piste, with the possibility of skiing to and from our house each day (snow permitting), there is a 5 minute uphill walk from the road to our house.
